Egypt’s EDA discusses pharma cooperation with Indonesia

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy has met with Indonesian Ambassador to Cairo Lutfi Rauf to discuss strengthening cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, the Cabinet said in a statement.

Talks focused on facilitating drug registration procedures to accelerate the availability of safe and effective medicines in both markets, while supporting joint efforts to enhance pharmaceutical security.

El-Ghamrawy underlined the depth of bilateral relations and stressed the importance of technical and regulatory cooperation between the EDA and its Indonesian counterpart, the statement added.

He said international partnerships are a key pillar of the authority’s strategy, helping expand Egypt’s pharmaceutical exports and align with the state’s vision for sustainable development and drug security.

Rauf commended the authority’s achievement of World Health Organisation maturity level three (ML3) under the Global Benchmarking Tool, reflecting Egypt’s commitment to international standards in drug quality and regulation.
