The head of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), Ali El-Ghamrawy, met with representatives of companies under the state-owned Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and Medical Supplies to discuss regulatory alignment, the Cabinet said.
The meeting addressed technical and regulatory challenges for affiliated companies, reaffirming the authority’s commitment to supporting national pharmaceutical entities while maintaining quality, efficacy, and safety standards.
El-Ghamrawy emphasised the importance of supporting the national pharmaceutical industry to ensure medicine security. The EDA is committed to creating a flexible regulatory environment that allows companies to meet high safety and quality standards.
The authority emphasised a participatory approach aimed at strengthening local manufacturing, particularly for strategic drug categories, to ensure sustainable availability and bolster the national economy and public health security.
Representatives of the holding company praised the EDA’s regulatory efforts and affirmed their commitment to providing safe and effective pharmaceutical products while ensuring full compliance with technical and legal requirements.
The meeting falls within the framework of the EDA’s strategic role in ensuring an effective national pharmaceutical system through collaboration with key stakeholders to balance regulatory compliance and procedural facilitation.
