Egypt’s EDA teams up with Healthflow, FEDIS on digital prescriptions

Egypt’s Drug Authority (EDA) held talks on Tuesday with Healthflow and Fixed Misr (FEDIS) to advance the implementation of the digital prescription project as part of efforts to support digital transformation in the health sector.

During the meeting, EDA head Ali El-Ghamrawy said the initiative is a strategic step to enhance the accuracy and speed of pharmaceutical services, aiming to establish an integrated data system linking healthcare providers, pharmacies, and hospitals. The project is expected to improve medicine use and reduce errors linked to traditional paper prescriptions.

He added that the project’s success depends on cooperation with specialised digital solution companies and EDA’s technical teams to build advanced infrastructure. The initiative will also be integrated into Egypt’s broader healthcare digitalisation strategy to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality pharmaceutical care.
