Egypt’s Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif met with Rasha Sharaf, secretary-general of the Education Development Fund (EDF) under the Cabinet, to discuss strengthening cooperation on education system development, a Cabinet statement said.
The meeting discussed the agenda for the 45th EDF Board meeting, chaired by the prime minister. It includes launching development work on the Early Childhood Development Centre (ECDC) for the Generation Alpha Preschools project.
The discussions also covered the implementation of Cisco’s digital skills courses in networking and cybersecurity, providing students with international certifications for technology-related professions in secondary schools.
Abdel Latif emphasised the ministry’s commitment to providing secondary school graduates with skills that meet local and global labour market needs, while upholding educational quality standards from kindergarten to graduation.
For her part, Sharaf highlighted the ministry’s role on the EDF Board of Directors in coordinating educational projects to support Egypt’s goals and create job opportunities, the statement concluded.
