Egypt’s EGPC strengthens cooperation for enhanced operational efficiency

The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) has signed on Tuesday key agreements on the sidelines of EGYPES 2025, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and digital transformation in the energy sector.

In a major step toward environmentally responsible water management, EGPC signed a cooperation protocol with Nalco Water, an Ecolab company. The agreement focuses on providing technical support for water source evaluation, recovery, and recycling in ongoing and future projects. The collaboration aims to ensure compliance with environmental standards while improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions.

Additionally, EGPC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Onspec Engineering and Contracting to advance digital transformation in the industry. The partnership will introduce cutting-edge solutions, including Advanced Process Control (APC) systems and operator training simulators, to optimise operations and enhance workforce capabilities.

APC is a model-based technology designed to improve quality, productivity, and energy efficiency across various industries. It provides automated control systems that optimize processes in refining, petrochemicals, mining, and manufacturing, driving economic growth and sustainability.

EGPC Chairman Salah Abdel Kerim reaffirmed the corporation’s commitment to implementing the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources’ strategy, emphasising safe, efficient, and sustainable production growth through technological advancements and environmental responsibility.
