Egypt’s EHA mulls twinning with Aussie healthcare entities

Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) for Chairman Ahmed El-Sobky, met on Sunday with Australia’s Ambassador to Egypt Axel Wabenhorst to discuss boosting cooperation in healthcare services and exchanging international expertise as per Cabinet statement.

Talks included a proposed twinning programme between Sydney Children’s Hospital and Australia’s Ramsey Health Care Group with Egypt’s Al-Nasr Specialist Children’s Hospital in Port Said. The initiative aims to enhance paediatric care, foster joint training, and implement global best practices in the field.

El-Sobky presented the Authority’s strategy for sustainability and green transformation, highlighting recent achievements such as international recognition for Sharm El-Sheikh International Hospital and Port Said Ophthalmology Hospital by the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) network.

The meeting also covered areas of potential cooperation, including medical tourism, clinical quality indicators, and advanced training for Egyptian healthcare teams in Australia, in line with Egypt’s broader goals for sustainable development and eco-friendly health systems.
