Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib participated in a high-level roundtable meeting held on the sidelines of the Egyptian-Russian Joint Committee sessions held from 12 to 14 May, as per an official statement.
The meeting convened top-level executives from prominent Russian firms involved in a wide range of economic, industrial, service, and technological sectors, such as transport, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, shipbuilding, and retail chains.
The participating companies included those interested in exploring new production and investment partnerships with Egypt, as well as those seeking to expand and develop their existing activities in the Egyptian market.
El-Khatib highlighted recent economic and monetary reforms aimed at enhancing the country’s investment climate and attracting new investment, particularly in light of recent regional and international challenges impacting the economy.
Both parties have set up contact points to monitor the results of the minister’s meeting with Russian companies and resolve any issues hindering their operations in Egypt.
Following the roundtable, the minister held a series of bilateral meetings with officials from various Russian firms in the technology, trade, and logistics sectors to discuss their targeted expansion plans in the Egyptian market as soon as possible.
