Egypt’s Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny met with officials from Egyptian Contracting Company (Mokhtar Ibrahim) to discuss the progress of the 6th of October City water purification plant’s second phase, with a capacity of 400,000 m³/day.
The project aims to increase the plant’s production capacity to accommodate ongoing development and rising occupancy rates in the city, as per a Cabinet statement on Monday.
El-Sherbiny emphasised the need for regular follow-up on the plant’s progress, noting its importance in West Cairo cities. He urged the acceleration of all tasks in the second phase, including civil and electromechanical work.
The minister directed that the project be completed within specific timelines to ensure it is finished as soon as possible, with regular follow-up on all aspects of the work, the meeting concluded.
