Egypt’s El-Wazir welcomes Qatari investments in industry

Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, held a meeting with a delegation from the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, inviting Qatari investors to explore industrial investment opportunities in Egypt.

El-Wazir emphasised the availability of promising opportunities for Qatari partnerships, either through joint ventures with Egyptian manufacturers or fully Qatari-owned factories operating in Egypt. The investments would focus on 23 priority industries identified by Egypt’s Ministry of Industry to meet domestic market needs and expand exports.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the fifth meeting of the Higher Committee for the Integrated Industrial Partnership in Doha, Qatar.

El-Wazir also held discussions with Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, where both sides reaffirmed their governments’ commitment to strengthening economic ties and elevating relations to a strategic partnership.

The discussions highlighted Qatar’s potential role in the Integrated Industrial Partnership and Egypt’s readiness to cooperate in key industries, leveraging its promising domestic market and local manufacturing capabilities.
