Egypt’s EMRA, Lotus Gold discuss exploration progress, future plans at EGYPS 2025

Egypt’s Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) Chairman Yasser Ramadan met with a delegation from Lotus Gold on the sidelines of the Egypt Energy Show (EGYPS 2025) on Wednesday to review the company’s exploration progress and future plans.

Lotus Gold provided updates on its exploration activities, including identified mineralised sites, sample collection, and trenching operations. The company also highlighted new promising areas within its concession while addressing challenges such as illegal prospecting and permit-related issues.

Ramadan emphasised the importance of accelerating exploration efforts, particularly in areas awarded during the 2020 gold tender, before any relinquishment decisions are made. He also proposed a training programme for EMRA technicians at Lotus Gold, a collaboration the company welcomed as part of ongoing knowledge exchange and capacity-building efforts.
