The Egyptian exports to the Canadian market jumped 13.6% to $ 515.8 million, compared to $ 455 million in 2011.
The latest report issued by the Egyptian Commercial Body in Montreal, Canada, elaborated that the gold has acquired 77.5% of the total value of the Egyptian exports to the Canadian market. The gold recorded $400.2 million in 2012, rose by 18.9% from a year before during which the gold exports attained $336.6 million. But the exports of chemicals and fertilizers recorded $43 million in 2012 (8.3% of the total Egyptian exports), rose by 31.9%, in return for $32.6 million in 2011.
The report added that the carpets and furnishings 3.7% of total Egyptian exports to Canada in 2012; achieving $19 million in, rose by 24.2%, compared to $15.3 million in 2011. The ready-made garments recorded $14.4 million in 2012, in return for $ 12.8 million in 2011, rose by 12.5%; representing 2.8% of total value of Egypt’s exports.
Meanwhile, the food industries attained $3.8 million in 2012, compared to $5.5 million in 2011, decreased by 30.9%.
