Egypt’s direct investments in the African continent have recently recorded US$7.9 billion, Egyptian investment minister Ashraf Salman announced Tuesday.
Africa is the world’s fastest-growing region for foreign direct investment, according to a 2015 report from fDi Intelligence, a data division of the Financial Times group.
Miniser Salman further said the real estate sector captures the lion’s share of Egypt’ recent direct investments in Africa, registering around US$2.5 billion.
Chemical industries sector ranked second, with direct investments worth US$2.2 billion.
