January Fertilizers Exports in Egypt fall to US$34 million

Egypt’s fertilizers exports have decreased from EGP 523.8 million (around US$68 million) to EGP 261million (around US$34 million) in January 2015 marking 50 % decline, Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council’s (CEC) report stated.

According to the report, Egyptian Fertilizers Company (EFC) seized 32% of fertilizer sector’s exports with EGP 82.6 million in January 2015.

Within the list of the most 10 exporting companies, Helwan Fertilizers Company (HFC) was the second with export volume estimated at EGP 45 million followed by Abu Zaabal Fertilizer and Chemical Company (AZFC) with EGP 36.9 million exports.

As the report showed, the exports of Egyptian Chemical Industries Company (KIMA) reached around EGP 22.6 million while the exports of Abu Qir Fertilizers Company hit EGP 20.2 million.

The report clarified that France captured 50% of the Egyptian fertilizers exports with EGP 127.6 million in January 2015 followed by Brazil which get exports worth EGP68.2 million then Turkey with EGP 17.7 million exports.
