Egypt’s FM in talks with Iraqi, Jordanian counterparts at Beirut summit
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry participated in a tripartite meeting with his Iraqi and Jordanian counterparts on Sunday on the sidelines of the Arab Economic and Social Development Summit in Beirut.
The meeting discussed ways of enhancing economic, development and technical cooperation between the three countries.
The meeting also reviewed regional developments in various areas including national security, common Arab interests and combating terrorism.
The Arab ministers affirmed their intent to continue meetings and consultations and to carry on with joint action to promote stability in the region and develop cooperation on all levels.
The fourth Arab Economic and Social Development Summit kicked off on Sunday with the participation of all Arab countries except Syria and Libya.
Egypt’s delegation to the summit is chaired by Minister Shoukry.
During the summit, Arab leaders are scheduled to discuss the agenda of the preparatory ministerial meetings held ahead of the summit.
The agenda includes 29 draft projects and resolutions on issues of mutual concern among the Arab countries.
