Egypt’s FM discusses Gaza crisis with Lavrov

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty held a phone call on Thursday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov. He reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza. He stressed the need for a just and lasting political solution to the Palestinian issue.
The two ministers discussed ongoing plans for Gaza’s reconstruction while ensuring that Palestinians remain on their land.
Abdel Aty also reviewed preparations for the Arab Summit, which Cairo will host on 4 March. He highlighted Egypt’s efforts to sustain the ceasefire in Gaza.
The talks also covered recent developments in Syria. Abdel Aty reaffirmed Egypt’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He stressed the importance of Syria as a stabilizing factor in the region.
