Egypt’s FM Shoukry holds talks with Lithuania’s govt. chancellor
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held Wednesday talks with Lithuania’s Chancellor of the Government Algirdas Stončaitis, where they discussed means of boosting bilateral ties in various fields.
During the meeting, Shoukry expressed his satisfaction with the level of cooperation between Cairo and Vilnius, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.
Egypt is keen on reinforcing relations with Lithuania, especially in renewable energy, information technology, cybersecurity and agriculture sectors, as well as increasing the volume of trade exchange and investments between the two countries, Shoukry said.
For his part, Stončaitis hailed Egypt’s economic reforms, and highlighted his country’s keenness on reinforcing cooperation with Egypt.
He also praised Egypt’s efforts in the fight against terrorism and illegal immigration, in addition to maintaining security and stability in the Middle East and Africa.
