Egypt’s food exports grow 19% y-o-y in 2021 – official
Egypt’s food exports increased by 19 percent to $4.1 billion in 2021 from $3.45 billion in 2020, the country’s food export council chairman announced on Wednesday.
Exports in June 2021 hit the highest, recording $393 million, Hany Berzy further said in a statement.
Berzy added that Arab countries were top exporter of processed foods from Egypt. Exports to the Arab markets reached $2.225 billion, representing 54 percent of Egypt’s total food exports during 2021, the Egyptian official said.
