Egypt’s food exports hit 165K in week

Egypt exported 165,000 tons of food products in the week ending August 1, 2025, with beans and strawberries topping the list of outbound shipments, the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) reported on Sunday.

A total of 3,810 consignments were exported by 1,250 companies, covering 644 categories of vegetables, fruits, flour, and processed food items, according to NFSA report.

Vegetable exports hit 45,000 tons, with various beans leading the way with 8,000 tons, followed by potatoes at 7,000 tons and frozen mixed vegetables at 6,000 tons.

Fruit exports totalled 26,000 tons across 30 varieties, with strawberries leading at 10,000 tons, followed by mangoes and red grapes at 5,000 tons each, as stated in the release.

The Sudan, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Russia were among the top destinations for Egyptian food exports, which reached a total of 170 importing countries during the week.
