Egypt’s food exports hit 300,000 tons in a week – NFSA

Egypt exported 300,000 tons of food products during the week of 14-20 Feb., the National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) said in a statement on Sunday.

The shipments comprised around 7,140 consignments sent by 566 exporting companies to 184 countries, according to the regulator’s seventh weekly report of 2026. The exports covered 763 food product categories, including fresh fruits and vegetables, processed produce, grains and flour-based products, and other assorted food items.

Fruit exports totalled 115,000 tons across 39 varieties. Citrus fruits led outbound shipments at 96,000 tons, followed by strawberries at 15,000 tons and other mixed fruits at around 4,000 tons.

Vegetable exports reached 96,000 tons spanning 46 varieties. Potatoes topped the list at 47,000 tons, followed by sweet potatoes at 11,000 tons and onions at 8,000 tons.

Saudi Arabia was the leading destination for Egyptian food exports during the week, followed by Russia, Sudan, Syria, and the Netherlands, the authority said.
