Egypt’s food exports sizzle in Q1 – FEC chair
Hani Barzi, Chairman of the Food Export Council (FEC), brought on Sunday a windfall of positive figures related to Egypt’s food exports at the Egyptian economy at the Egyptian Competition Authority‘s (ECA) first annual conference. Barzi announced a staggering $1.6 billion in food exports for the first quarter of the year, highlighting the sector’s impressive growth.
This achievement builds on a stellar year in 2023, with total food exports exceeding a whopping $6 billion.
Barzi went on to emphasise the Egyptian food industry’s significant contribution to the nation’s well-being. He highlighted that the sector generates over 35 per cent of household income, playing a crucial role in supporting Egyptian families.
