This impressive figure reflects a wide variety of over 616 fresh fruits, vegetables, and other food items.
Egypt’s vegetable export portfolio boasted 64 different varieties, with a total volume of around 40,000 tons. Beans were the top export at 15,000 tons, while sweet potato at 11,000 tons and onions recorded 10,000 tons.
Meanwhile, mango was the top exported fruit last week, with 14,000 tons, followed by pomegranates at 7,000 tons, and strawberries at 6,000 tons. Around 29,000 tons of 53 fruit varieties were exported.
Egyptian food exports cater to a vast international audience. During the week of September 7-13, shipments reached 152 countries. Spain, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, and Libya emerged as the top destinations for this bounty of Egyptian produce.
