Egypt’s food industry exports grew by 0.5 percent reaching $3.490 billion during the first 10 months of the year, the Food Export Council (FEC) monthly report showed on Monday. This increase up from 3.473 during the same period in 2021.
The report also added that exports in January 2022 hit $306 million, registering 14 percent growth in value compared with exports in the same month a year earlier.
In February, the exports record about $341 million, with a 0.3-percent decline from $342 million worth of exports in the same period last year, the report mentioned.
While, Egypt’s exports to the Arab markets have reached about $1.748 billion during the first 10 months of this year, representing 50 percent of the total food exports.
The European Union came second in list with $697 million worth of food imports from Egypt, the report said, adding that the EU represented 20 percent of Egypt’s total food exports.
