Egypt’s FRA reports nearly EGP 1 trillion in financing in first 9 months

Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) said on Wednesday that total financing extended by entities under its supervision, including capital market and non-banking finance activities, reached 954.2 billion Egyptian pounds from January to September 2025.

Equity issuances accounted for 497.5 billion pounds, other securities 70.3 billion pounds, leasing contracts 122.2 billion pounds, micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) financing 76.9 billion pounds, consumer finance 66 billion pounds, discounted securities 91.9 billion pounds, and real estate financing 29.4 billion pounds.

Registrations on movable assets in the collateral registry totaled 3.9 trillion pounds by the end of September, while MSME financing balances stood at 92 billion pounds.

In the insurance sector, total premiums collected reached 87.5 billion pounds, including 49.1 billion pounds from property and liability insurance and 38.4 billion pounds from life and investment-linked policies. Claims paid during the period totaled 46.8 billion pounds, split between 22.4 billion pounds for property and liability insurance and 24.4 billion pounds for life and investment-linked insurance.
