Egypt’s fuel imports dropped by $1.5 billion from January to September of 2023 to record $9.4 billion, compared to $11 billion during the same period in 2022, the country’s official statistics agency CAPMAS reported on Tuesday.
CAPMAS also added that the country’s crude oil imports reached $1.6 billion during the first nine months of this year, compared to about $3.5 billion during the same period in 2022, a decline of $1.8 billion.
Gas imports rose to about $1.8 billion in nine months of 2023, up from $1.3 billion during the same period last year, marking an increase of $53 million.
