The Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC) is planning to participate in the international forum on Syria Post-War Reconstruction that would be held by the middle the next year, a member of EFEC said.
Abdo Shoulah added that this forum will witness the participation of four main Egyptian sectors namely Furniture, building materials, engineering industries, and home furnishings.
Shoulah said that EFEC is keen on opening new markets for the Egyptian exports to compensate for the decline in exports, especially Damietta exports.
The Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC) has also agreed on organizing promotional tours during the next financial year to increase its exports to Kazakhstan and Russia.
Moreover, the furniture industry is a labour-intensive one since it encompass around 120,000 facilities, seizing 13% of industrial manpower. Accordingly, the sector could participate in solving state’s unemployment crisis.
The Egyptian Furniture Export Council (EFEC) is an independent entity established by Ministerial decree from the Egyptian Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade to support one of the fastest developing industrial sectors in Egypt.
