Egypt’s exports of glass increased 4 percent to register$ 198 million in first half of 2019 against $ 190 million in the corresponding period in 2018.
The Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory & Metallurgy Industries (ECBM) said in its monthly report that in H1 of 2019 Egypt exported products to about 97 countries of 13 ones for the first time.
The new countries included Argentina – Malawi – Dominica – Venezuela – Angola – Malta – Guinea – Panama – Congo Zaire – Georgia – Puerto Rico – Philippines – Vietnam
Turkey topped the list of importers of Egyptian glass with imports of $ 21 million over the six months. While Netherlands came in the second position with its imports of $ 14.718 million and Spain was third on the list with $ 14.146 million
In addition Italy was in fourth place with $13.688 million and the US fifth with $11.860 million.
The council said Egyptian exports of precious stones and jewelry receded 27 percent in the first half of 2019 recording dlrs 825 million against dlrs 1.134 billion in the same period in 2018.
