Egypt’s govt. reviews cotton trading system
During the meeting, Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting farmers, emphasising the importance of promptly paying their dues, particularly for cotton crops.
Discussions focused on the implementation of the cotton trading system as part of broader efforts to support farmers, enhance crop quality, and improve product cleanliness. Furthermore, he noted that these measures are in line with ongoing upgrades to ginning facilities, which aim to produce high-quality cotton, ensure its effective use in manufacturing, and maximise added value across all production stages.
