Egypt’s Higher Education Min. visits Canadian college

Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour visited the Canadian International College (CIC) in Fifth Settlement, the Cabinet said in a statement on Monday.

Ashour stated that Egypt’s higher education sector has made significant progress in the past decade under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s leadership, highlighting the crucial role of universities and institutes in promoting comprehensive development.

Egypt has 185 private higher institutes with almost one million students, which are essential to the education system, he said. The ministry aims to enhance the quality of education by updating curricula to meet global standards and emphasising practical skills for graduates.

Ashour said the ministry’s plan to enhance the role of private institutes aligns with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and focuses on developing practical skills, the key driver for labour market success. The plan also aims to deliver integrated academic programmes in partnership with various industry sectors.

He also underscored the importance of discipline in the educational process, effective communication between faculty and students, and intensifying extracurricular, cultural, and athletic activities to foster student development.
