Egypt’s industrial index dips slightly in Aug. ’24 – CAPMAS

Egypt’s manufacturing and transformational industries index, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, reached 111.44 (initial) in August, slightly lower than 111.45 in July, according to CAPMAS data released on Tuesday.

Among the economic activities showing growth was the beverage industry, which recorded a significant increase, reaching 518.87 in August compared to 375.50 in July, reflecting a 38.18 percent surge.

Conversely, the food products industry declined by 4.6 per cent from 141.40 in July to 134.87 in August. The electrical appliances industry also contracted by 10.78 per cent from 93.43 in July to 83.36 in August.
