Egypt’s Industry Min. explores steel investment, green transition

Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El Wazir, and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib met with Chairman Ashry Steel Group Ayman Ashry to discuss the development of the country’s iron and steel industry.

The meeting explored investment opportunities in Egypt’s steel sector, focusing on production capacity and advanced technologies to attract new investments.

Discussions also covered efforts to transition towards a green economy by integrating renewable energy sources into energy-intensive industries like steel production.

Officials emphasised the importance of reducing carbon emissions to align with international and European Union standards.
