Egypt’s investment minister reviews Forbes Tower project
Egypt’s Minister of Investment Hassan El-Khatib met with Maged Marie, CEO of Magnom Properties, the real estate arm of Saudi Arabia’s Rawabi Holding Group, to review progress on the $1 billion Forbes International Tower project in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.
The Forbes International Tower, described as the world’s first hydrogen-powered, zero-carbon skyscraper, aims to set a new benchmark for sustainable architecture by integrating advanced technologies across its design, construction, and operation phases.
The tower is designed to achieve full energy independence from renewable sources, with hydrogen fuel providing about 75 per cent of its electricity needs, while the remaining 25 per cent will come from solar energy generated by photovoltaic panels built into the facade.
El-Khatib said the project underscores Egypt’s growing role as a regional hub for green and sustainable investment, highlighting its alignment with national efforts to attract environmentally responsible ventures and promote clean energy innovation.
