Egypt’s ITIDA announces new round of Graduation Projects Programme
The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), part of Egypt’s ministry of communications, announced on Wednesday a new call for applications for the Graduation Projects Support Programme.
It is one of the Information Technology Academia Collaboration’s (ITAC) programmes that aims to support university students and encourage innovation.
The programme targets senior year students enrolled in faculties of engineering, computer science, and information systems in Egyptian universities and institutes. Students shall apply their graduation projects in the fields of information and communications technology (ICT) at a date no later than February 15, 2022
Admitted graduation projects will be receiving funding amounting to 10,000 Egyptian pounds ($636.46) per project after being evaluated by a group of experts.
In ITAC, there are three different programmes targeting researchers and companies, and two others programs targeting university students, including the aforementioned graduation projects support programme. The programme avails funds to university students’ graduation projects, enabling them to better innovate and develop products based on research and industrial developments.
It also opens the room for the ICT companies to propose research areas to integrate them to market and industry needs.
The programme has previously offered support to a number of 1230 projects across 33 universities in Egypt.
The ITAC initiative aims to boost the Egyptian ICT industry by fostering collaboration between industry and academia, to develop innovative products based on research. Therefore, it would position the Egyptian ICT companies at the forefront of the ICT market, locally and globally.
