Egypt’s unemployment rate edged down to 6.6 per cent in 2024, marking a slight decline of 0.4 per cent from 2023, as per a report from the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).
In 2024, there were 2.113 million unemployed individuals (1.091 million males, 1.022 million females), down from 2.190 million in 2023, a decrease of 77 thousand people, or 3.5 per cent.
The labour force reached 32.041 million individuals in 2024 (26.080 million males, 5.961 million females), compared to 31.149 million individuals in 2023 (25.570 million males, 5.579 million females), an increase of 2.9 per cent from 2023.
