The board of Judges Club and regional heads of the club, in a meeting was held yesterday, headed by Judge Ahmed al-Zend, completely refused the proposals concern the judiciary in the new constitution bill, which is being drafted.
The attendees agreed on convening extraordinary general assemblies in different regions of the club, to follow the latest developments and stress refusal of these proposals.
As per the articles they had objected on, they said merging the judicial authorities with the judicial power will breach the judiciary system and violates the judiciary and judges independence, moreover, it will harm the justice path and the litigants’ interests.
The general assembly of the Appeal Court has recently announced its unanimous refusal of the proposals that concern merging the judiciary authorities with the judiciary power. It has also decided to form a committee announce its objection and refusal of the Constituent Assembly to draft the new constitution.
