Egypt’s expats remittances hit record $36.5b in 2024-25 – CBE

Remittances from Egyptians working abroad registered $36.5 billion in FY 2024-2025, up 66.2 per cent from $21.9 billion in FY 2023-2024, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said in a statement obtained by Amwal Al Ghad English.

On a monthly basis, remittances recorded an all-time high in June, reaching $3.6 billion, a 40.7 per cent year-on-year increase, the CBE added.

In the April-June 2025 quarter, remittances rose 34.2 per cent year-on-year to $10 billion compared to $7.5 billion during April-June 2024 quarter.
