Egypt’s MSMEDA, Ebda pact to boost small enterprises

Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) and Ebda have signed a cooperation protocol to boost small industrial projects across Egypt.

The agreement, formalised by Basel Rahmy, CEO of MSMEDA, and Amani Eid, CEO of Ebda, aims to enhance support for small businesses, improve product development, and increase local production capabilities.

Rahmy highlighted that the initiative aligns with national strategies to reduce dollar outflows by promoting local industry and expanding services for small projects. Moreover, the agency will leverage investment opportunities to aid project establishment and expansion based on regional resources and market demands.

According to the statement issued on Thursday, the collaboration is set to streamline project setup, permit acquisition, and financing through the agency’s provincial network. Additionally, free training and support services will be offered to improve productivity, market access, and export readiness, following the Project Development Act 152/2020.
