Egypt’s NASS, Singapore’s ITEES ink MoU to boost technical education

Egypt’s National Academy for Science and Skills (NASS) signed a memorandum of understanding with Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education Services (ITEES) to strengthen technical and vocational training, the Cabinet said on Sunday.

The agreement was signed during the Egypt–Singapore Business Forum, attended by Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Masagos Zulkifli, Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development.

Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif said the partnership aims to improve the quality of technical education, introduce international qualifications, and make graduates of Applied Technology Schools more competitive in local and global job markets.

Key objectives of the MoU include applying the Global Excellence Model for Skills Education and Training (GEMSET) in Applied Technology Schools, introducing International Skills Qualification (ISQ) certificates, enhancing technical education quality, and improving graduate employability in regional and global markets.

The scope of cooperation covers infrastructure development, capacity building for educators and leadership, academic development and quality assurance, as well as licensing, certification, and other advisory services related to the programme.
