Egypt’s natural gas exports doubled to reach 4.5 billion cubic metres during 2019 from 2 billion cubic metres a year earlier, data from the British oil production company BP announced.
The company said in its annual statistical review of world energy 1.7 billion cubic metres of exports went to Europe, while Asia and the Pacific countries received 2.7 billion cubic metres, led by Pakistan with about 900 million cubic metres.
Egypt’s gas production rose to more than 64.9 billion cubic metres at the end of 2019 against 58.6 billion cubic metres at the end of 2018, the highest level in more than 10 years.
