Egypt’s National Food Safety Authority (NFSA) head Tarek El-Houby reaffirmed, during a meeting with the European Commission’s Cairo office, the country’s dedication to enhancing collaboration with the European Union in fish and dairy exports.
He expressed his contentment with the recent resumption of fish exports to the European Union following a three-year pause, describing it as a noteworthy milestone for Egypt’s food safety regulations.
Discussions focused on mechanisms for beginning the export of marine fish to the European Union, addressing challenges, and promptly implementing solutions, according to a Cabinet statement on Tuesday.
El-Houby also said the opportunity to reopen European markets for European composite dairy products and discussed receiving technical assistance from the EU to help export Egyptian farm fish that meet European standards.
