Egypt’s non-oil exports hit $4.104 bln in two months
Egypt’s non-petroleum exports reached $4.104 billion during January and February this year, said chairman of the state-run Egyptian General Organisation for Export-Import Control (GOEIC) on Wednesday.
“They include $3.143 billion worth of industrial exports and $961 million of food products exports,” Ismail Gaber further told Amwal Al Ghad.
In February, non-petroleum exports registered $2.061 billion, while industrial exports recorded around $1.532 billion and food products exports reached $529 million, Gaber added.
“The Arab League’s member countries seized 37.3 percent share of Egypt’s non-petroleum exports, recording $1.532 billion during the first two months of 2019,” Gaber said.
In February, Arab League member countries’ exports stood at around $785 million, followed by around $591 billion exports to the European Union member states, $159 million exports to the United States, and around $103 million to the African states, Gaber added.
“Meanwhile, the exports of other countries worldwide amounted to around $422 million last February,” he said.
