Egypt’s Petroleum minister reviews investigation into Admarine 12 barge capsizing

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, met with officials from ADES to review the ongoing investigation into the capsizing of the Admarine 12 offshore barge in the Gulf of Suez’s Gebel El Zeit area.

The meeting was attended by members of the technical committee tasked with investigating the causes of the incident. Badawi urged the committee to swiftly complete its work, identify all direct and root causes, and ensure accountability for any professional misconduct or negligence.

He also followed up on the company’s support measures for the families of the victims and stressed the importance of providing them with full care.

The ministry continues to coordinate with all relevant state bodies and the company to manage the aftermath and uphold safety and workers’ rights in the petroleum sector.
