Egypt’s PM affirms important role of African Peer Review Mechanism

Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr Moustafa Madbouly has affirmed the important role of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) and Egypt’s constant commitment to supporting it while ensuring its financial sustainability to achieve its desired objectives more effectively.

During his participation in the 38th Ordinary Session of the African Union Summit in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly noted that the Sub-Committee on Budgetary and Administrative Affairs, under Egypt’s chairmanship, has approved an additional budget of approximately $1.5 million for the APRM, including around $1.1 million from the reserve fund financed by member states. He also announced that steps are underway to restructure Egypt’s national committee responsible for APRM-related activities.

He stated that Egypt prioritises administrative reform in its upcoming voluntary review and is ready to share its governance expertise with African nations to promote institutional development and regional cooperation.
