Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Saturday inaugurated Türkiye’s $40 million Eroglu Garment factory in the West Qantara Industrial Zone of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the Cabinet said.
The 64,000-square-metre facility will produce ready-made garments to international standards and create around 2,750 jobs, boosting Egypt’s export capacity, the statement added.
Madbouly said the project underscores Egypt’s push to attract labour-intensive industries and strengthen the SCZONE as a competitive manufacturing hub. The zone, he added, has become a model for supporting global companies and increasing value-added exports.
SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said the project highlights Turkish investor confidence, noting that the agreement was signed in April 2024, construction began in August, and the factory was completed in just over a year.
