Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday inaugurated an $85 million logistics warehouse operated by DP World in Sokhna Industrial Zone, part of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
The DP World Egypt for Logistics Services complex, developed under the SCZONE’s Main Development Company (MDC), is the first fully integrated logistics facility in the area, offering bonded and non-bonded storage, digital tracking systems, and on-site customs clearance.
Madbouly said the project underscores Egypt’s commitment to expanding public–private partnerships and attracting global investment to the logistics and supply chain sector. “The SCZONE is emerging as a key gateway for global trade, and projects like this strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional logistics leader,” he said during the inauguration.
According to a Cabinet statement, the 300,000-square-metre hub will be developed in two phases. The first phase has already begun operations, while the second is scheduled to launch in the third quarter of 2026. The site is expected to create more than 300 direct jobs once fully operational.
The facility’s proximity to Ain Sokhna Port, Suez City, and the New Administrative Capital gives it a “strategic advantage for seamless connectivity across Egypt’s growing industrial network,” DP World officials told Madbouly.
They reaffirmed DP World’s long-term commitment to Egypt, noting that the new hub forms part of a broader plan to integrate port and logistics operations and support Egypt’s export growth.
Since 2008, DP World has invested over $1.3 billion in Egypt, expanding Sokhna Port’s capacity and integrating it into global supply chains.
