Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Sunday reviewed a comprehensive ten-year strategy to develop the country’s iron and steel industry, according to an official statement by the Cabinet.
The strategy aims to develop Egypt’s iron and steel industry—a key input for many sectors—by implementing proposals to enhance productivity, boost the competitiveness of local products in global markets, and position the country as a regional hub.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir reviewed ongoing efforts to boost the iron and steel sector, maintain product competitiveness, and localise supporting industries.
He emphasised that strengthening upstream and downstream industries related to iron and steel would benefit the broader industrial sector and contribute to achieving the intended economic objectives.
