Egypt’s PM reviews progress around GEM ahead opening

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly on Saturday inspected ongoing development projects surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), as part of preparations for its official inauguration on November 1, the Cabinet reported.

The prime minister stressed that his inspection tour reflected the government’s keenness to follow up closely on the progress of projects around the museum, ensuring accelerated work as the opening date nears.

He also underlined the importance of finalising logistical preparations and event arrangements for the inauguration, which he described as a major global celebration, according to the announcement.

Madbouly noted that the tour showcased the extensive infrastructure improvements in the vicinity of the museum, highlighting the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilisation to the global audience, as stated in the release.
