Egypt’s PM reviews social protection package to ease living costs
Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly chaired a meeting on Sunday to review the proposed framework for the social protection package, as instructed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The package aims to provide assistance to the country’s most vulnerable citizens, addressing their economic challenges amid ongoing global crises.
The meeting, attended by key officials including Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, and Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity, focused on finalising the target groups and key components of the package. Prime Minister Madbouly emphasised the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on low-income families, particularly through improving the accuracy of targeting beneficiaries in need of support.
Cabinet Spokesperson, Mohamed El-Homsani confirmed that the details of the proposed package will be presented to President El-Sisi for approval in its final form.
