Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly toured the Cairo ICT Fair and Forum on Sunday, visiting pavilions of key government agencies and major technology and financial institutions.
During the tour, Madbouly inspected the booths of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), Telecom Egypt, and the National Post Authority, as well as major financial regulators and institutions, including the Central Bank of Egypt, the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), and the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA).
At the NTRA pavilion, CEO Mohamed Shamroukh highlighted achievements over the past two years, including the launch of a service to block unwanted marketing calls, benefiting 1.4 million subscribers, the issuance of 5G mobile licences attracting $675 million in investment, and the rollout of Wi-Fi 6E, eSIM, and Wi-Fi Calling services, which enabled 4.9 billion calls by 7.5 million users.
Shamroukh also outlined the authority’s IPv6 strategy, planned for completion by 2030, licensing for connected vehicle services, the upcoming e-KYC biometric verification app, and the opening of the National Spectrum Monitoring Centre to oversee frequency usage nationwide. He said these initiatives advance Egypt’s digital transformation, improve service quality, and strengthen the country’s leadership in telecommunications and IT.
At the National Post Authority pavilion, Chairperson Dalia Elbaz showcased digital financial services, including the relaunch of the Easy Pay app, the introduction of Egypt’s first smart parcel stations for 24/7 deliveries, and the upcoming Floosy app, the country’s first fully integrated platform for investing in more than 40 mutual funds.
The prime minister also toured pavilions of leading technology and financial firms, including CYSHIELD, ISCORE, SAFY Group, Xiaomi, DELL Technologies, CISCO-RAYA, ORANGE, and HUAWEI, where officials demonstrated the latest services and innovations shaping Egypt’s technology landscape.
