Egypt’s Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly, instructed governors to regularly monitor the availability of staples and control their prices, particularly as the holy month of Ramadan approaches, as reported by the Egyptian Cabinet.
During the Prime Minister’s fifth meeting with governors, Madbouly called for the daily enforcement of price monitoring mechanisms and the expansion of the one-day market initiative, particularly in rural areas, to ensure goods are available to citizens at affordable prices.
Madbouly also urged collaboration between the state, the private sector, and civil society institutions to provide support to the most vulnerable families, especially during Ramadan.
Regarding efforts to tackle building violations and settlement procedures, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of enforcing laws and following regulations for settlement.
Regarding the presidential initiative to plant 100 million trees, the prime minister emphasised the need to closely monitor its implementation, ensuring coordination in the selection of tree species to preserve the aesthetic integrity of urban landscaping.
