Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly visited the EGP-1.5-b Groupe SEB Egypt factory for home appliances and utensils in New Borg El-Arab city, Alexandria governorate, the Cabinet reported on Monday. Groupe SEB, a French-Egyptian partnership with local component reaching 50 per cent.
Madbouly reaffirmed government support for key industrial projects to enhance production, boost exports, create jobs, and strengthen domestic industry, as per the statement.
The Minister of Trade and Industry stressed the importance of the home appliance and tools manufacturing sector, highlighting government efforts to attract local and foreign investments and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.
CEO Qasim Hassan told Dr Madbouly that Groupe SEB has a 60,000 square metre facility, housing both an electrical appliance factory with 15 production lines and a cookware factory with 5 lines producing popular brands.
Groupe SEB Egypt boasts annual production of two million pieces of appliances and 1.5 million cookware pieces. It exports about 40 per cent to markets like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.
Madbouly highlighted the importance of securing production supplies and ensuring affordable products for Egyptian citizens in light of recent government measures, according to the statement.
